Debopriya and Suchismita are world's most unique pair of flautist sisters for whom flute is life.

In their natural settings, with hugely gifted parents, Prof. Robin Chatterjee & Mrs. Krishna Chatterjee; both vocalists & composers from Allahabad, the musical sojourn of The Flute Sisters began early on. Their quest for the depth & richness of Hindustani classical music, especially the flute or ‘Bansuri’ brought them to the feet of Guru the greatest living exponent of Maihar Senia Gharana, the Sun of Flute Padmavibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.

Debopriya

Debopriya has chosen 'flute' as her way of life. After acquiring thorough training in classical music, both Indian and Western, she is poised to present her art to connoisseurs. She accompanies her guru, Padmavibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia on stage in India and on global stage. For her unflinching dedication and excellence in her art, she has been bestowed with coveted awards like Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar from Sangeet Natak Akademi, the title of Surmani and the Sahara Excellence Award to name a few. She is the lead flautist in the all girl classical music band - Sakhi.

Suchismita

Suchismita too has been trained in the best of world schools in Indian and western classical music and lives by the flute. Her uniqueness lies in assiduously carrying forward the Guru Shishya Parampara set forth by Guruji. Accompanying Guruji to various soirees only further strengthens the bond. The title of Surmani and the Sahara Excellence Award are a few accolades to her name. Raga Symphony features her as the lead flautist.

Guru

Under the guidance of the Late Pandit Bholanath Prassanna they received their initial training in flute and further have had the privilege to be trained by the living god of flute, the last word in Indian classical North Indian flute, the magician, PadmaVibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia.Flute Sisters share a beautiful bond with their Guru who has been not only a wonderful teacher but also a source of inspiration, initiating them into music and ways of life.Suchismita & Debopriya are indeed fortunate to inherit the Senia Gharana lineage and lucky to follow the path paved by Baba Allauddin Khan & Smt. Annapurna Devi.
